Lore

In the deepest reaches of the Lone-lands, there is a sharp descent that leads into a shadowed path. Follow that path and you will find it takes you underground, into tunnels that stretch down into the dark, forgotten regions of the world. Here the light cannot reach, earning it the name of Despair. It has become home to a variety of evil races who thrive in the darkness, such as the fierce lizardmen and the notorious insectoids. Men who wander too close are sometimes unfortunate enough to be dragged into the lair of the insectoids, to be sacrificed to the Giant Worm by their spiritual leader, Kyshf. If some legends are to be believed, deeper still, the ultimate evil slumbers, its Herald beckoning those with the power to free it so it may return to the world and finish what it started all those centuries ago.
