The last victory against the forces of Nogroth was a costly one, particularly for the elves. The Elder King fell, as did many of those who fought alongside him. Even the legendary Captain Aerendyl, the leader of the Elven army and the king’s right hand, met his end in battle. These brave warriors were buried with honors in a catacomb built as tribute their sacrifice. These catacombs were meant to serve both as a symbol for the elven people and ensure the eternal rest of the interred.
Over the centuries, the dwindling elven population stopped caring for, and eventually forgot the location of, these catacombs. As darkness creeps across the land and the dead begin to rise from their graves, there is concern that these catacombs may also have been corrupted. Who knows what dangers the world could face if these ancient heroes are used as champions of the great evil.
